Heritage North has works closely with local First Nations during Oil & Gas assessments and has developed a very sound working relationship with the surrounding communities and their members.

We are also available for hire by the First Nations communities for a variety of services and studies if requested.

Traditional-Use Studies (TUS) are conducted in cooperation with First Nations and are intended to identify and document historic First Nations social, ideological and economic heritage resources. There can be a correspondence between traditional-use sites and an archaeological site, but the TUS does not leave physical evidence such as the discovery of an artifact. These studies can not only help a development company with public relations, but also aid in project planning.

Recently HNCL has successfully delineated buried remains within a pre-field study that was positively confirmed by the client using ground penetrating radar equipment to record the burial site. Please call or email for further information.
